KNOW Vaccine Campaign

A public awareness campaign to increase the scientific literacy about vaccines in the general public, in response to the publicized paranoia being spread by the homeopathy movement.

tDap Boosters for Parents
Family is an important subject in any health related campaign. tDap is a crucial vaccine for children, but parents should be aware that they should get a vaccine booster to further protect their children. Pertussis is most commonly contracted from a family member who lives in the same house and is deadly to infants.
Benjamin Franklin's Loss
This founding father lost his 4 year old son, Francis Franklin, to smallpox. This loss in his life led him to be an advocate for inoculation in the early US.
Franklin Institute Exhibit
The centerpiece of the campaign is a Franklin Exhibit on how vaccines work. Since the campaign theme is scientific literacy, it makes sense to have a public venue for education and interaction.
